Policy for Ghost Roles
Ghost Roles Policy
By signing up as a ghost role, such as Ghost Café, Tarkon, or the Persistence/Dauntless, you accept the fact that you are not allowed to interact with the station in any significant manner. Attempting to do so will lead to in-game (the destruction of the ghost role) and OOC (ghost role bans) consequences, you must submit an OPFOR.
The specifics of Misused Mechanics differ for each ghost role. For example, as a member of Syndicate ghost roles, you are broadly prohibited from interacting with the station unless you submit an OPFOR request and it is approved by an admin[1]. Additionally, crew must leave ghost roles well enough alone and not attempt to raid ghost role areas, whether they are occupied or not. The Persistence is always in a position hostile to the station, though they are not antagonists. In the case of the Persistence, it is generally reasonable that most characters do not know its name, due to it being an unmarked land-crawler.[2]
For Syndicate ghost roles:
- You are allowed to sell lesser contraband on the Black Market Uplink net.
- You are allowed to kill any intruders on your space without warning.
- You are allowed to message the station through various means, such as PDAs or communications, at your own risk.
Here are examples of actions that are strictly forbidden:
- Selling/giving any TC items to the station.
- Protecting/guarding/assisting active antagonists.
- Attacking miners/taking hostages.
- Selling high contraband items, like mechs or guns.
Other ghost roles that are not strictly themed as enemies of Nanotrasen (e.g., BMD, Tarkon, Charlie Station, Hermit) may engage in limited interactions with the crew.
For neutral roles:
- You may head to the station to socialize, or engage in trading. Security has the right to escort you out if you are causing trouble.
- Selling and possessing Contraband are both illegal on-station, though this is strictly in-character
Here are some actions that are forbidden:
