Or: how I learned to stop complaining and start fixing!

Work in progress as I fill it out.

So, you want to change something?

This guide exists to outline how to make change on Bubberstation, and will assume that you will succeed on any given step, but as anyone knows, that isn't always true. This guide is to just outline the paths through which you can change certain things.

Changing Rules: Roleplay and Core Rules

Wording/Clarification Change

These changes are almost universally very quick and require little oversight. You simply must be an administrator and get your fellow administrators to agree that your wording is an improvement over the original wording. As a rule of thumb, aim for the most clear explanation in the fewest words possible. If you are a Headmin, you need only give notice.

Substance Change

If you would like to change the core of a rule, then naturally this becomes much harder. You must get your change peer-reviewed by your fellow staff, and they must (almost universally) agree that your change would be an improvement to the server.

As a rule of thumb, a 2/3rds majority is needed for something like this.

Changing Rules: The ERP Rules

Changing the ERP rules is like pulling nails due to the nature of ERP on Bubberstation. We want to be sex-positive and ERP forward, so avoiding taking any steps back, or steps too far forward, is critical to the server's mission.

Wording/Clarification Change

A wording/clarification change to the ERP rules needs either Headmin or Host approval. Both preferred. This is the bare minimum for something like this, you should also have approval from as much as the staff as possible.

Substance Change

A substance change to the ERP rules needs Headmin AND Host approval. This is the bare minimum for something like this, you should also have approval from as much as the staff as possible.

Changing Rules: Discord Conduct Rules

Wording/Clarification Change OR Substance Change

A change to the Discord Conduct Rules can be reviewed and approved by either the Head Admin or Head Chatmod.

Changing Rules: Github Contribution Rules

Wording/Clarification Change OR Substance Change

A change to the Github Contribution Guidelines requires approval from the Lead Maintainer, or the Host in their absence.
