At the start, you will have a NanoTrasen CMG-2 PDW in your backpack. This is an extremely dangerous, lethal weapon, and should not be used unless the Captain's life (or another staff member) is in danger. You are ''not'' Security; this cannot be stressed enough. Leave the handling of criminals to [[Security Officer|Security]] and not yourself. The moment you leave your task for a minute, you are begging for [[Traitor|someone]] to attack them.

The CMG-2 has two ammo types: lethal, and rubber. You will likely be taking someone down lethally most of the time, but there is no issue in loading in less than lethal munitions. Each magazine contains (24) rounds, with lethals doing good damage against unprotected targets, and the rubbers taking around two bursts of shots to stamcrit someone. Consider the math when you need to protect the Captain's life.

It is recommended to at some point get a flash (for silicons), a medical kit, and a crew pinpointer.
